    3. I am re-forwarding this because these are the slave narratives done by the WPA in the 1930s, when they interviewed all over the south ex-slaves or sons/daughters of slaves. I have seen one book that collected some of the NC slave narratives and it was riviting reading. The site is searchable by state and perhaps by surname (of slave or owners). I had no idea that it was on the internet, apparently in its entirety. It is a RICH source of historical (and other) information gathered during the "great depression" era in 1930s America when the WPA program hired many writers and paid them to interview and record in the subjects own words some of the history of which they had knowledge or in which they took part. I found several recorded interviews with "old timers" who mentioned my great grandfather Samuel Ketchum. http://rs6.loc.gov:80/wpaintro/wpahome.html """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Searching for the Spradley and Ketchum families.
