I have a Benjamin Whitson b. ca 1759 from Rowan County who married Ann (possibly Bell). Can anyone tell me how I can check deed and will records in Rowan County, long distance, from Philadelphia? Although the Whitson and Bell families appear to originate in Rowan County, Benjamin Whitson is closely associated with Jane Bell Luckey (Lucky, etc.) in Harford County, MD and after Jane is widowed they move to Kentucky where I find Benjamin in Green County on the 1813 tax list together with Robert Bell, Thomas Bell, Isaac Bell, and James Bell. He is named in the will of his son-in-law, Michael Humble in Henry County, KY in 1818. He migrates to Indiana where he is active in the anti-slavery movement. I would like to find any kind of legal documents naming Whitsons in Rowan County and any association with the Bell family. Can someone direct me in this research attempt?
