Nothing suprises me in research, BUT on reading your grandmother's obit, I remember meeting her years ago, when the family lived in my neighborhood. Her daughter Ruby, your half-aunt married Red Beck, who was my hunband's cousin. Devon Jenkins, half-uncle worked for the same company I did at one time, although I did not know him well.
