I believe she is descended from one of the son's of John Worke, Sr., son of Alexander Worke, Sr. This is what I have been able to find out re John, Sr., children (both males and females) : 1. Isabella Caroline Worke m. Wm. Means 6 Sept 1796. Three children (that I know of); John D. Means, Robert S. Means and William C. Means. 2. John, b ca 1775-1795- REALLY nead information on him. 3. Robert Worke married Mary ___ ca 1802. Robert d ca 1810 and is buried in Old 4th Creek Presbyterian Graveyard in Statesville. Children: Sarah Worke married Joseph R. McKinley on 1 December 1827 in Cabarrus Co., NCarolina Robert Worke Jane Worke married Caled Phifer Houston William C. Worke Alphonzo Worke 4. Joseph Criswell Worke, b ca 1775 - 1795. Need more infor- martion on him. 5. Alexander Worke, b 1775-1794, died by 1827, married to Polly(or Ann) who was b 1775-1794. Alexander has no daughters in 1800...by 1820, he has 5 daughters. Children are: Jane Worke, b 105 to Presley Mayhew. Robert Worke- a minor in 1821 Mary Worke- a minor in 1821 Ann Worke- minor in 1821; married Robert Lanier on 4 Sept 1830 one daughter I have not been able to identify. 6. Jane Worke who is dead by 29 May 1830.. I am really interested in what happened to John Worke and his brother, Joseph Criswell Worke...or to anyone who can name the other daughter of Alexander Worke(all three men were the children on John Worke, Sr.) Thanks if you can help.
