He was married to Lucy McIntosh and she is buried in Rowan Co. This and the following is what I think I know. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you in advance. Wayne Morris 1. MARY MCKAY1 (MCCOY) was born Abt. 1764 in Scotland, and died in Rowan Co.(Now Iredell), NC. She married HECTOR MCINTOSH. He was born Abt. 1750 in Strathnairn, Scotland (CA 1750). Child of MARY (MCCOY) and HECTOR MCINTOSH is: 2. i. LUCY2 MCINTOSH, b. Abt. 1827, <Iredell Co.,NC>; d. Abt. 1850, Iredell Co.,NC. Generation No. 2 2. LUCY2 MCINTOSH (MARY MCKAY1 (MCCOY)) was born Abt. 1827 in <Iredell Co.,NC>, and died Abt. 1850 in Iredell Co.,NC. She married GEORGE MORRIS. He was born Abt. 1823 in <Iredell Co.,NC>. Notes for LUCY MCINTOSH: Iredell Co and 1850/1860 - did she die giving birth to a child - Charles - so George named him Charles Hector Morris Notes for GEORGE MORRIS: John was a southern plantation owner and among his extensive holdings he had as high as 1,000 slaves. He was at one time a member of the far-famed Pony Express and later served as a Confederate soldier. As an author he wrote a widely published novel. CHARLES HECTER3 MORRIS (LUCY2 MCINTOSH, MARY MCKAY1 (MCCOY)) was born May 31, 1849 in Chatthau Co., NC, and died July 29, 1938 in Central City, Merrick, NE. He married NANCY JANE HUDNALL January 07, 1885 in Chapman, NE, daughter of NATHAN HUDNALL and SARA. She was born January 07, 1868 in Pomeroy, Meiggs, Ohio, and died May 11, 1941. Notes for CHARLES HECTER MORRIS: During his early life a Negro mammy cared for him. His early education was obtained by tutors and in a seminary. Later he attended Broyles College, North Carolina. He also spent two years in the United States Military Academy. This rich and full background of education was further enhanced by extensive world travel. He visited every state in the union during his lifetime and traveled abroad in Palestine and Egypt. After coming to Nebraska he worked in a drug store in Chapman. He had obtained a medical education at school and was well suited for the work. Despite his abundant education and dealings with the aesthetic, his love for the outdoors called him and he became an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad Company. He served the company for forty years before retiring. During his life he was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren (Newspaper clipping August 1,1938, Central City, NE)
