The family was living by Hunting Creek in Rowan County, North Carolina when Thomas became deathly ill and wrote his will. All their children were minors and none were yet married. Later Benjamin married Nancy Desjarnetes, Elizabeth married William Butler, Rachael married Henry Guffey, and Mary married Arthur Morrow.
