I have an ancestress named Ailsie--not a nickname. I have a living acquaintance with that forename--Ailsie. I do not think this is a nickname, but a misspelling of Ailsie. Put it on the back burner for a while. When you get to a good big library, ask for a book on children's names and see what you think. E.W.Wallace
