Hi there, I do not have the parents of Susannah Greene. Would like to ask you some questions regarding Susannah and Daniel Hunt. Was Daniel a Doctor? Did he have a son Daniel Hunt who married Mary Wiseman in Rowan Co.? After I sent you the e-mail on Dr. Daniel Hunt, I started looking thru material I had on the Hunts. Found this query in an old journal: Seek proof that Dr. Daniel Hunt, will dated 1789 d 1806 Rowan was bro of Col. Jonathan Hunt 1716-1783. Need maiden name of Daniel's wf Susannah and wife of Daniel's son, Cpl. Jonathan Hunt 1760-1842. MR. Joe Williams, 2608 Southlawn Dr. El. Reno, OK 73036. (1986) This led me to look for info on Col. Jonathan Hunt, who was in this area in 1750 and I knew was part of the migration from New Jersey, settleing in Jersey Settlement (now Davidson County.) Daniel Hunt's will was made 30 Aug 1789 probated 1789???: wife Susannah, sons: John, Gershum, Arthur, Daniel, Dau: Margaret, Ame, Charity. Exec: Susanna, John and John Green. This is another family, who used the same names over and over. FIRST FAMILIES OF JERSEY SETTLEMENT: The Hunts were on Long Island on 4 Jun 1714 when John Sr. b c1658 son of Ralph Hunt of Newton bought 500 acfres of land in Hopewell, NJ. on March 7 1914 John Hunt and Joanna of Newton sold 100 acres in Newton. Joanna was a widow in 1733. Joanna Hunt's son, John Jr. b c1690 in Newton, married 8 Feb1714 Margaret Moore, probably daughter of Gersham Moore. (this nam Gersham is used in the Hunt family) John and Margaret's son Johathan 1717-1783 married c1737 Mary Smith, dau of Andrew and Sarah Stout. Smith. THE PITT/SMITH BIBLE John Hunt, Sr. died in Hopewell, NJ leaving a will dated 11 Feb 1740/1, probated 1Oct 1748, naming wife Margaret, Children: Jonathan, Johanna, Charity, John, Noah, Greshom, Daniel and Enoch. Also in Rowan County with Jonathan were his two brothers Daniel. Enoch and Gershom Hunt. (Daniel's daughter, Hannah married John Green, (Rowan) 16 Jan 1779 with Owen Hunt bondsman. The Green family was also from Hopewell, NJ) In one article JOhn Sr.'s wife is Johanna, in the will she is Margaret. possible that Margaret is a second wife??? So if Dr.Daniel and Jonathan are brothers, most of the info would pertain to Daniel. I believe I remember reading somewhere that there is a Hunt book on Jonathan Hunt. I will check in the library.
