She was born as Eva Crowell probably in Gold Hill, N.C. in 1860 to Andrew and Rachael Crowell. She married a Mack or WM Cuthbertson in 1890. They adopted a daughter Roberta Cuthbertson who was born in 1892. Both Eva and Roberta were teachers in Rowan Co unty, N.C. census for 1920. Eva died in January 1927, in Rowan County, N.C. If anyone have knowledge of a Mack Cuthbertson or Roberta Cuthbertson or Eva Crowell Cuthbertson please notify me. Thanks. Hartman Livengood was a chain bearer in 1784 for Adam Grimes on Abbot's Creek. 1806 John Grimes bought 140 Acres of Edinger Estate Note: Edinger's line in Adam Grimes Grant 2877 - Feb 4, 1803; issued Nov 20, 1805. I am interested in the history and cemetery of Bethany church which is near Farmer's Creek -- I was told that the 11 acres of land was sold/given to them by Frederick Miller out of his 500 acre. I know the cemetery is very old, and possibly headstones of some of the oldest burials aren't even there now. I was told that there were some Grimes buried there. I'd like to know more about this, if anyone has researched this area. I believe it is now in Davidson Co.

Hessle, Jacob Beard, Lewis Rake, Frederick all are listed on land grants/warrants on Farmer's Creek around 1783. I research the Frederick Miller and Grimes families, but was curious about these neighbors. Also wondered if anyone had land grants/deeds in which any Grimes is a chainbearer for the land.

I sure do wish, for my New ye ar's wish...that the mailing list, and the message boards were two separate things and we didn't get these getewayed messages that are posted on our mailing lists and do not make sense, because we are not reading the message board. And, if there is a name or something...you can't reply on mailing list and ask about it.
