They had a child, Ellison Williams on that year. It appears that Surry county would have been Rowan at that time, right? I could really use the services of a geneological expert to find tax or deed records for this very common name. We don't have a first name of the father, so it's going to be like finding a needle in a haystack! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. There are no lists per say:   You'll need to look at the land deed records, the land deeds will reflect when the claim was staked. This will give you a date for arrival in KY. Try this site, it has copies of the originals on line along with abstracts. http://sos.ky.gov/land/   There is one list of the 1778 families in Ranck's Bonesborough book. Otherwise you need to look through the Virginia records.   The Virgina digital library (on line) has the abstracts and documents from this time period. Since Ky was part of Virginia. Some documents on line. Otherwise you'll have to order them.   George Rogers Clark, Illinois papers, everyone who was in the Ky militia served with George Rogers Clark and the Illinois regiment. Here is a WEB site with a partial list: (there is no complete list of names). (again the Vircina state library has the original documents. http://my.execpc.com/~sril/grclark   In addition there is an Indiana site for Clark's Grant http://www.in.gov/history/5087.htm There are 2 lists those who were granted land in the lottery and those who did not receive land.   Here is the best book George Rogers Clark and his men: Military records, 1778-1784 compiled by Margery Heberling Harding It will reference where in the Virginia State library the record is located. I just spent 4 years working on this same issue.
