When I did a search on the name, it came back with websites that spell in Schweissgodt, or something like that! Swicegood may be a derivative of something similar to that spelling, which appears to be German(?). Have you seen any other Swicegoods in Rowan County? Have you done any research in New Jersey for any of your families? Thank you for replying!

I live in Tipton county tennessee and I heard that William Wiseman married Ann. His father was Isaac, who was born on the canterbury ship in about 1699 or 1700. Isaac married Mary Marshall. William has a son named William wiseman Jr. I found William Wiseman Jr. in the 1850 Tipton county census. he was born in 1786. He married Sarah Mcbride. She was born in 1787. Does this sound like who you are looking for. If this is your family there are dozens of people looking for this family all over america.

I am so excited to see that you may have info. on my Elizabeth. PLEASE e-mail me at paddock3@msn.com so I can share what I have. Another Elliott cousin I found had a vauge history of Elizabeth having been of possible Indian descent - (even though none of my family info mentions it) So now I am very curious. An indian past may explain why she has been so difficult to trace. Please, Please share with me whatever you have on your Elizabeth. THANKS SO MUCH.
found a terrific map at http://www.charlottemuseum.org/learn/education/inclass/pdfs/settlement.pdf you will need acrobat reader to open it and you can zoom in on it. It shows very interesting migration patterns. Audrey

Betty, I did a google on Bull River and the closest I can get to it is that North Williman Island in northern Beaufort County is apparently close to Bull River in South Carolina. Sorry I couldn't pinpoint it for you yet. Bob Sanders
One of my mother's Welsh ancestors seems to have been the Captain of the schooner "Rose Schneider", owned by James Fisher of Barrow, England and lost on a voyage from Bull River, South Carolina to Belfast, Ireland, 26 March 1879, commanded by Capt.JohnWilliams. Captain Williams family was living in a little village in Amlwch, Anglesey, Wales when the ship was lost. Where is Bull River? It must have another name. I wonder if a nearby NC port would have a newspaper from 1879 that would talk about its arrival and departure. Betty Pace
