2. nbsp is a boo-boo which a lot of servers serve up when they cannot accept .rtf or word documents which are cut and pasted from word processing. I note some rootsweb webpages have trouble with this--don't know why. It does interrupt thought, doesn't it? E.W.Wallace

2. Have you tried to find this man on the Social Security Death Index? There is one on rootsweb and another on Ancestry.com Do a www.google.com search and type in Social security death index About the fifth one down will be the one on rootsweb. I tried to copy and paste it, but it would not paste. You may have better luck, but you can click on the underlined link from the google.com search and reach it. Try misspelling the name if you don't get a hit. E.W.Wallace

Jacob later migrated to Indiana where he married in Grant County INDIANA in 1840 . He lived in several IN counties, and IA and MO. 1. Re: [NCRowan] Corinth Church Cemetery, Coble/Morgans
2. Patricia B. Beck
3. Iwas hoping I could help you, but some of your info is confusing. East Corinth Baptist Church is located on Stokes Ferry Road, which runs in the same direction as Highway 52 to Stanly County. William Frankin Coble b 25 March 1877 d 24 Oct 1938. Littie Mae Coble b 14 June 1918 d 15 MAy 1931. The Stanly County shows W.F. Coble married to Belle Mauldin 8 May 1899. Was he married twice??? The only marriage I found for Michael Giles Morgan is to Priscilla Ann Arey 7/30/1874 Rowan County. I found the family in the 1880 census with one child. Cannot find in Rowan County 1900 census. The Hinson book states that Michael Giles married a Eliza Miles, but cannot find any proof of this. The family could have moved to Stanly County. In 1870, he is still living with his parents. He also has a daughter there,Lillie Mae Coble buried aprox 1931-1934. He was supposed to have been from Stanly Co, I found him living in Anson Co as a young toddler in his parents household, David Coble III and his wife Priscilla in 1880. I know that he married my greatgrandmother Julia Lindy Morgan in Stanly Co, but I am not totally sure where she was originally from. Julia was supposed to have also been from Stanly Co, but her youngest daughter Elmittie Coble was supposed to have been born in Concord,NC aprox 1925. During my search I was told that Corinth Church was near Salisbury in a town called Woodleaf possibly. Anyone familiar out there with it? Is there a possibility that the Stanly Co Morgans might have been from Rowan Co? Is anyone out there familiar with a Mike Giles Morgan and an Eliza or Liza W. Morgan, or pe! > rhaps a Nathan or "Burlie" (sp?) Morgan? They are supposed to be Julia's parents and brothers. The names Polin, Barringer,Berrier,Pickler or Peckler were in the Obit for William , any bells ringing there? Also is there an area called Erlanger anywhere around there ( Lilly/Lily was supposed to have died near Erlanger) ? Just thought I'd ask...... 2. To find some records for Rowan Co., NC, an old county in North CArolina, here are some of my suggestions: Are you near an LDS family history center? Check this website to find out. www.familysearch.org The link to a list of over 3,500 centers around the world are found on the lower right. Just above that link is another link to the LDS Family History Library catalog. On that catalog you will find lots of listings for microfilm, books (which you cannot borrow unless they have been filmed), and microfiche. You can borrow for a small fee for a short time a good many films for Rowan Co., NC (and a lot of other US, not to mention English, Welsh, Scottish, German, and so on records). If you can persuade your local public librarian that interlibrary loan is a good thing, then take the names of the books for Rowan Co. and ask him/her whether he/she will initiate an interlibrary loan for you. Genealogy is a lot of HARD work--and time-consuming. Internet is great for establishing relationships and learning new avenues, but it will not give you a great deal of PROVEN information on your ancestors. Much of it is pure gibberish!!! On the website give above, you will find also the 1880 US census ( a little tricky to use), some guides to research in North Carolina (and elsewhere), some downloadable forms, etc. Explore away! 1. [NCRowan] Bell - Whitson, middle 1700's to 1800's
2. I have a Benjamin Whitson b. ca 1759 from Rowan County who married Ann (possibly Bell). Can anyone tell me how I can check deed and will records in Rowan County, long distance, from Philadelphia? Although the Whitson and Bell families appear to originate in Rowan County, Benjamin Whitson is closely associated with Jane Bell Luckey (Lucky, etc.) in Harford County, MD and after Jane is widowed they move to Kentucky where I find Benjamin in Green County on the 1813 tax list together with Robert Bell, Thomas Bell, Isaac Bell, and James Bell. He is named in the will of his son-in-law, Michael Humble in Henry County, KY in 1818. He migrates to Indiana where he is active in the anti-slavery movement. I would like to find any kind of legal documents naming Whitsons in Rowan County and any association with the Bell family. Can someone direct me in this research attempt? Heaven knows, I would be very grateful. Regards, Georgia Whitson
