For a Directory of Links to over 200 online ships lists in this time period, see http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/palship_list.shtml (Olive Tree ships are marked with the little OTG button) Today I added the following ships: http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/pal_hamburgh1785.shtml Hamburgh 11 Oct 1785 to PA http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/pal_betsey1785.shtml Betsy Amsterdam to PA 15 Oct 1785 http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/pal_lydia1785.shtml Lydia Amsterdam to PA 29 Oct 1785 http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/pal_candide1785.shtml Candide Amsterdam to PA 19 Aug 1786 For information on Palatines (Who they are, where they came from and where they settled) see http://olivetreegenealogy.com/pal/ As always all records on Olive Tree Genealogy are free for all to use - enjoy! There is a new book on the 4th NC Cavalry in the Civil War. The 4th was drawn in part from Mecklenburg Co., NC, and one of my ancestors (Young Pace) was a member. I received a mailer on the books publication because I had submitted a small bio. on him and his family. The publisher if McFarland & Co., in Jefferson, NC. I notice they have other Confederate books in their catalog, which you can check out on www.mcfarlandpub.com. I have no interest in this company other than my small contribution to the 4th Cavalry book. My apologies if it is not permissible to post something like this, but I thought someone might be interested. Betty Pace
Dear Folks - To the best of my knowledge no one is asked to pay for anything on OliveTree Genealogy Mrs. Schultz has been graciously generous with her time and her assistance. Agnes C. Here is a web page that lists a reconstructed census for 1790-1800 Virginia. It is based on personal and tax records from the counties in Virginia. It could be useful since there is no actual federal census for 1790 and 1800 Virginia. Location: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~ysbinns/vataxlists/index.htm Here is a web page that list early religious petitions signed in Virginia for various reasons. I have ancestors that lived in Rowan County from 1759 to ca 1800: (A) William PENNY (1709-1761) and Elizabeth _____(1710-1775); (B) Capt.Robert BARKLEY (ca 1715-ca 1810) and ____ ____; (C) Capt. William PENNY (ca 1751-1821) and Elizabeth BARKLEY (1755-1822); I can't find records for several items, and am hoping that someone can point me in a good direction. For (A), I lack the maiden name for Elizabeth. One possibility is MARTIN, but I'm looking for proof more rigorous than what I now have. For (B) I know nothing about the woman married to RB, except that she likely died in Rowan County ca 1789. For (C), I'm looking for evidence that this Elizabeth is the daughter of Capt. RB and __ __, as well as record of birth. Also a marriage record for WP and EB (ca 1775). Thank you, Bill Penny MN
