He was living in Lincoln County in 1860 near a John Erwin, also from Iredell, apparently employed as a stone worker. He married Sarah Pettus Harris of York County, SC. His son was named David and later went by the name Ernest Nathaniel. Robert is presumed to have died in the Civil War. Any help would be very much appreciated. Don Grant

These three, I believe are brother's, or one is a Dad, and the other two are Brother's, I am not sure. John, Thomas, and Valentine Bird, and their families. John, had thirteen children by 1790, Thomas had four children by 1790, and Valentine had one girl, by 1790. John is married to a Susanna, Thomas, is married to Ann, and Valentine's, Wife, first and last name is unknown. This Bird, family moved from NC, after 1850, and just before the Civil War broke out. They moved from NC, to MS, to AL, and settled in or near Jackson County, Bird Township, and near Swifton, AR. I have most of the children's names, and a lot of marriage information. I descend through John, who had a son Michael, who had a son Michael jr. Possibly they may have been a part of the Trail of Tears, and broke off from this movement, as some people have suggested. I am trying to find out where this Bird family came from. Either, another part of NC, or from VA, or SC, or other! parts, does anyone know? Thank you, Jeane
