Sandy, Thank you for reminding me about the Great Indian Trading Path and how?it facilitated travel between these two counties (Granville and Rowan).? It was probably this same Great Indian Trading Path that the craftsmen and/or merchants of Rowan County?used to get?their products to trade or sell to?the trading?post town of Cross Creek, now Fayetteville. I have also noticed a lot of the same surnames showing up in both Rowan and Granville, possibly many of them were members of the same extended family living in the two counties. I have some ancestors from my father's side who lived in Orange County and some?ancestors from my mother's side who lived in Rowan County.? They (descendants)?all ended up in western Kentucky and my parents were born in cities?about 50 miles apart, but didn't meet until they moved to Michigan.? It's a small world!
