Since I posted my query below I just found these two deeds in Rowan County. Would anyone know mmore about this Deal (Diel) family ? I don't know who is in Cabarrus or Mecklenburg but Rowan Co., NC has 1802 Jacob Deal, Peter Albright, my Jacob Heilman (Hileman) and Elizabeth Deal-all of Rowan Co. -193 acres next to Jacob Corell, John Stirewalt, Phillip Henry Berger, Phillip Yost, and Peter Stirewalt... Adam Stirewalt... grant to Joseph Deal on Nov. 4 1784 on Buffelow Creek. I just found this one. The other one is for Peter Diel 4 Feb 1817 Rowan Co. names his father as Joseph Diel who was deceased and had been granted the land.. mentions John Stirewalt. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jacob Hileman, the patriarch of this branch of the Hileman family, was probably born in Northhampton or Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania. By 1790 he had moved his family to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina where he purchased 200 acres of land on Dutch Buffalo Creek from Jacob Goodman for Ð130. Between the years of 1805 and 1814, Jacob purchased over 1100 acres of land in Cabarrus Co., NC. Before 1819. Jacob sold most of his lands in Cabarrus County to his son, Jacob Jr., and moved to Union County, Illinois. He lived in Union County until his death in 1828. He served in the Revolutionary War. His tombstone in St. John's Cemetery in Union Co., IL states that he died at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 15 days. Jacob Hileman was born 10 Jul 1762 in PA He died 25 Aug 1828 in Union County, Illinois. Jacob married Eva Rumbold. He married 2nd to Christina Diel (Deel, Deal). I am trying to find information on Christina's lineage and find her parents and siblings. She was born 1 Sep 1768. She died 12 Feb 1853 in Union Co., IL. Christina and Jacob are my 4th great grandparents. I descend from their daughter Christina Hileman who married Jacob Rinehart, Jr. Marianne Dillow Illinois
