I, too, am a descendant, and am having a difficult time sorting out the numerous Walkers in Davie/Rowan County during this time period. Since you have been doing this longer than I have, you probably have more information, but I am willing to share anything I have. I would appreciate your sending me what you have in this time period in Davie and/or Rowan Counties. Thank you so much. My family goes back through William, 1792, who married Mary C. Conaster, 1792, but there is much confusion about whether he was the son of Jesse Walker of another William Walker. I would appreciate ANYthing you can provide about this period in Davie County, as I am also related to the Smiths and the Wards and the Cuthrells. Thank you so much. I BELIEVE that some of her records are listed with the Mormon genealogy, so I would try there if I were you. I am in the Walker DNA Group 25, and the William doesn't match with anyone in my group, although there are some questions about the 1700's in this group. I did better with some names than others. Click on the country in the big map after search, and it takes you to the various counties within that country. Betty I thought maybe some of you might be interested in this web site. However, I can't get it to work (search) too well but others did better. Something about Java script. I got it from a Welsh mailing list. http://www.publicprofiler.org/worldnames/ Unfortunately, the site crashed while I was on it but it seems like an interesting project to chart where names are found in the world. I'd like to discuss this all with you by email. I understand that your Jesse Talley had intended to contact Marion (the opera singer)Talley's father about maybe being related. I have the civil war enrollment cards for your Marion N. Talley (more than just the index) to share with you. Your Marion N. Talley has been studied in detail because The opera singer Marion Talley's father Charles also had a Marion N. Talley as a father. That father would have been about the same age as your Marion N. Talley b.1847. Can you contact me at my email which is [email protected] ? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Marion Nelson Talley (1847-1908), also went by Charles, as evidenced in the 1880 & 1900 Fed. census. He married Luella Sizer in 1875, the children that I know of were Edward, Jesse, and Bertha. I am not seeing a son Charles or a younger Marion N. Talley in this line.
