I would like to trade information with you about Colbert Pelley. Edith Frances Wallace Suggs Brownlow Pelley was my g-g-g-grandmother. My g-g-g-grandfather was her first husband Robert Suggs. They divorced in 1860 and he had cheated on her. She married Isaac Brownlow in 1862, who died in the Civil War Prison Camp in Illinois. She then married Colbert. She had two Suggs sons, one Brownlow son, and two Pelley sons. Hope you are still out there. Jeff Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am confused about a Bame – Trexler relationship that I am trying to sort out. I am hoping that maybe someone can help me out. Thanks in advance Ginny Atwell I have a George Bame, born 8 Apr 1812 in North Carolina One or more of the following were his wife Rosannah Trexler, Daughter of Jonn Trexler and Elizabeth Morgan (b.16 Jun 1787) Rosanna Trexler, Daughter of David Trexler (b.26 Nov 1827) and Chrisey C. Ribelin (b.28 mar 1830) Lavina Trexler (b. c1825), Daughter of John Trexler and Elizabeth Morgan I have also seen the name Rosa Trexler associated with George Bame, but I am assuming that this is a redundancy of one ot the above. Elizabeth ?________ (b.26 Feb 1825) – is this Elizabeth Beaver? Elizabeth Beaver, with children; Amanda Bame, Samuel Bame (b.26Feb 1858), Joseph Adolphus Bame (b.c1860) I am thinking that perhaps Rosa, Rosanna, Rosannah and Lavina are the same person and that Elizabeth Beaver was his second wife. But which Rosanna Trexler was his wife In the 1860 Rowan County, North Carolina Census, I find South Side of Salisbuty, 23 July 1860 738 George Bame 50 M Farmer 1500/1260 b. A Y-DNA Surname Project for the surname(s) Rosamond/Rosemond/Roseman/and other variations has been established and can be joined online at Family Tree DNA. The project is intended to try to genetically link the various Rosamond families who through the years have begun using alternate spellings, as well as tie together those lines of Rosamonds living in various parts of the US, Canada and the world. In particular, this will determine which branches of the Rosamond families are descended from the legendary Sergeant Rosemond of Ireland, which from Jacob Rosenmann, and which from other progenitors and areas. If you are a male with the surname Rosamond (or have a surname with any variation thereof) please consider joining the project. Or if you have any male friends or relatives with a variant of the surname Rosamond, please encourage them to join the project. In order to join go to the following website: http://www.familytreedna.com/ Click on the "SURNAME PROJECTS" link on the left side of the page. Wait for the next page to load. In the chart for "Y-DNA SURNAME PROJECTS", click on the letter "R" (followed by a number). The number is the number of surname projects currently available starting with that letter. Either (1) enter "Rosamond" in the search box and click on the "Project Search" link, or (2) scroll down the list of surnames and click on the name "Rosamond" Both options take you to the page where you can enter your personal information and order a test kit. Note that this information remains private except for advising me, as the project administrator, that you have ordered a kit and joined the project. Click on the drop-down arrow at the end of the "Type of Test" line in order to see the options for the various kits that can be ordered. The only one required to join the project is the Y-12 marker kit. Ordering your kit automatically puts you in as a member of the project. Possible alternative spellings are: Rosamond, Rosemond, Rosemon, Roseman, Rosemund, etc. In my genealogical research I have come across over 40 alternate spellings in various records. A website is now online for the project at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/rosamond. Thanks to all, and please contact me at jdrosamond@comcast.net if you have any questions. Jimmy D. I am just passing this on from the Wake Co. NC mailing list Betty Pace I'm pretty sure the surname of the letter's writer is "McCarns," and that he was of Rowan (& possibly Davidson) counties. Possibly he is the same George McCarns who in 1912 in Rowan Co. married Laura V. (nee: Rouse) Jenkins (widow of James H.
