    1. [NCROOTS] finding county information in NC
    2. Hi Ruth, I apologize for not posting the URL to the list. Betheny > there seem to be plenty of sites for most of the other n.c. counties, but >new hanover seems > harder than most to get records via the internet. sure would appreciate the >help. thanks in > advance. >> > >The same holds true, it seems, for Jackson Co. Any sites woud be greatly >appreciated! Thank you. All 100 North Carolina counties, plus some former counties and the Cherokee Indian Reservation, have home pages in the NCGenWeb system. Go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgenweb/ and you'll find a table listing all of them. Each of the individual county pages is associated with a query board, and most have individual e-mail lists. For North Carolina, most of the query boards associated with the NCGenWeb project are the ones on the GenConnect system, but some counties maintain separate boards, so it's worth checking the individual county pages. You may also want to look at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgenweb/list.html which is a page of links to various other NC resources, including other NCGenWeb project pages, the NCGenWeb Archives project, the NC state archives, newspapers, maps, and more. Besides NCGenWeb, there are several other projects on the web that provide information on individual NC counties. I'll leave it to the coordinators of those projects to provide their own announcements. Elizabeth Harris state coordinator, NCGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgenweb/
