Hello Granny, You are correct about that. I am embarassed that that happened and always have been, even though it has gone on for centuries in other countries as well. That still does not make it right. I have always celebrated Thanksgiving for the wonderful treasues I have in my life and that was how I was raised that Thanksgiving was a day of giving thanks. Giving thanks to God for our many blessings in spite of the wars. The white were oppressed people before they came to America, too. I have just this year found out that I have a Native American link and maybe one more. I think it is wonderful. I understand myself more. I am an extremely *earthy* person in a world of *unearthy* people.......now I know where that part of me came. However, again, many of my ancestors were part of founding and building the structure of America of which I am very proud also. I just do not like how some of it was handled. May you be thankful for your blessings such as the wonderful stories you have to pass on to your family and friends. I am sure that all of us had ancestors that faced many hardships we could never imagine. The Native Americans are by far the ones that I feel the most sorry for as in any county as it is today where people are fighting over land just as the have been for thousands of years as it says in the Bible. I will be thankful for my blessings today as I was last night when I prayed about them. Anonymous
