    3. Angela, Sorry to off-topic, but this issue is causing concern on many lists and it is important to understand the facts. Elizabeth, this will be my first, last, and only post on this subject on this list. It would seem that many of you might be confused about this email virus/worm. When you receive (note that I did not say IF you receive one <grin>), you will find that an exe file is attached to it. If you open that file - and lots of people are doing just that - your PC will be infected by a fairly obnoxious worm virus. And by being infected, it goes on to infect others by reading your email inbox and sending it to them and forging the sender name so you do not know where it really came from. What is the genealogy aspect? The Rootsweb email community has (accidently) proven to be an extremely fertile breeding ground for this new worm. But: it is NOT coming from RootsWeb; it just often seems to be coming from them. If anyone would like to learn more about it: http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/virus1.html Please get your Anti-virus software updated and scan your disks to clean any viruses. Then make sure that it is scanning your incoming mail for incoming viruses. For the next few weeks, you may have to do this every few days. Condolences, john.
