Joy, Unless my memory fails me, the 2nd ship to arrive here was bringing supplies for the Colony. And Governor White left no one here due to the devastation of the fort and the disappearance of the Colony. There are hypotheses of what happened to the Lost Colony; some say they were brutally slaughtered by the Indians, others say they moved south to Hatterask (now Hatteras Island) and eventually merged with the Indians, with their lineage now traced to the Lumbees of North Carolina. Of course, there is the legend of the White Doe; Virginia Dare fell in love with an Indian prince but the shaman of the tribe wanted her. When she spurned him, he turned her into a white deer and she roams Roanoke Island to this day. You could probably contact the Fort Raleigh Historic Site (I think they are on the web as well); they would have a full list of colonists.
