I'm looking for any anything about one of my brick wall ancestors, Truman Garrett, born in Dec. 1777 somewhere in North Carolina. He was married to Abigail Lawry, possibly in Provincetown, MA about 1811 where they had a daughter, Henrietta, born on 8/15/1812. >From there, they relocated to Vinalhaven, Maine.. I would imagine he would have been from an area fairly near the ocean, possibly a fisherman, to take the root he had and end up where he did. Vinalhaven is an island and Provincetown is as far out as you can go on Cape Cod. Also, could someone direct me to a source with names of the established counties in NC at that time.
