Hello everyone, I am hoping maybe someone can help me with a small problem. I am looking for a small town in Halifax County, North Carolina call " BUCHARIA TWP" I have run up again a brick wall. I contacted the Historic Halifax Assoc. and here is a portion of the message that was sent back to me --- I quote > ""We do not have any information on Bucharia Twp nor have we run across it in the limited research that we have > done in the county. Our primary interpretation time frame is 1760-1840 for > the town of Halifax. As the county seat our research on Halifax town does > lead to info on the county but we are not familiar with Bucharia."" > In the 1870 census my greatgggrandfather is list as Porter, William - -61 - - m - - w -- birthplace Nc -- County Halifax -- Locality Bucharia Twp. We feel if we can locate this township that it will be a big help to us in our research. We have check all maps we can find even to this time period.
