From: EUZELIA@aol.com Company F, 1st Battalion N.C. Infantry This company was raised in Catawba County and enlisted at Catawba Station on August 14, 1861. After being mustered into service the company was assigned to the 1st Battalion N.C. Infantry and was designated Company F, afterwards Company E, of that unit. In March, 1862, the 1st Battalion was reorganized and became the 32 Regiment N.C. Troops. This company was transferred to the 32nd Regiment and was designated Company F. The company functioned thereafter as part of the 32nd Regiment, and its history for the remainder of the war is reported as a part of the regimental history. (Because the 1st Battalion N.C. Infantry was a provisional organization that had only a brief existence, rosters of the companies that comprized that unit have not been included in the *North Carolina Troops* series. The period during which the men of this company served in the 1st Battalion is covered in the following roster. For additional information concerning the history of the 1st Battalion, see page 1 of this volume and Volume III, page 65.) The information contained in the following roster was compiled from company muster rolls for August 14, 1861-December,1863, and August 31,1864-February 28,1865. No company must roll were found for January 1-August 30, 1864, or for March-April, 1865. Valuable information was obtained from primary sources such as the Roll of Honor, dischargee certificates, medical records, prisoner of war records, pension applications, and Civil War newspapers. Secondary sources such as postwar rosters cemetery records, and records of the United Daughters of the Confederacy also provided useful information. Officers Captains John Ray Peter F.
