I have been fighting a brick wall for almost 20 years concerning my ggreatgrandfather, Alexander Starrett in Guilford Co. NC. I found a site which had Ross Deeds listed. On several of them there is a John Starrett that proved the Execution of the within Deed in open court and on motion ordered to be registered. What does this mean and what would the occupation of John Starrett have been. I am hoping that this will lead me to the parents of Alexander and possibly his wife, Nancy Gray.
