Census records are available from about 1790 through 1920 (1930 will not be made public until 2002 I think). Some are indexed and some are not. I was told that the 1890 census' are incomplete, lost due to fire. Just make sure the library to where you are going does indeed have census reports. Not all do. A lot of reports are now on-line.
