Hello, I found information in the 1870 census in Sampson, NC but nothing before that in the County Library. Where can I find the 1840-1860 records or is there a slave schedule that would give me that information? The family line is a mixture of White, Black and Indian. In the 1870 census most of my relatives were considered mulatto for race. They were sharecroppers in the late 1880 to early 1900's and owned land, too. I would like information on Land, Deeds and Wills also. I know the WEST. MCLAMB and RAYNOR's owned land.
