    1. [NCROOTS] Census for Moore, Chatham and Sampson Co.
    2. Hello, I am new to this list, and new to the genealogy thing in general, and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Perhaps my ignorance will be revealed when I ask, but is there a particular place to go to find comprehensive census reports? I have been to the rootsweb and visited the county sites, but can find nothing. Is there somewhere else I am supposed to go or am I missing something? I would like to view the Census reports for the early 1800's for Moore, Chatham and Sampson Counties. My family names are Brown,Williams, McNeil and Myrick (Moore Co.), Myrick and Albright (Chatham) and Fisher (Sampson). I only know a few details and am trying to fill in the blanks, as are probably most of you. I do know for sure that my ggg grandfathers in the Civil war was William Wesley Brown, b. 1838(?), Elias Williams, b. 1841, and William J. Fisher, b. 1829/d.1863. I do have the 1860 Census on William J. Fisher, his father was Saunders Fisher, but I cannot find anything on him. I have the NC Troops Volumes on the others in the Civil war, but other than that I have nothing and I have no idea where to go. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
