Hello Flora , I believe we might have some of the same Smiths...I believe i saw a Thurman marriage on one of the family group sheets somewhere. I have Rev Samuel Powell Smith , b1805 Wilkes Co NC who married Amelia Maratin d/o Dr Robert Martain and Amelia Wright (d/o Capt John Wright III and Ann Williams). Their daughter Sarah Martain Smith (b. 1828) married Uriah Douthitt . Any connection ?
