No birth date given, death 10 Nov 1780, as you say. The "camp" referred to seems to be an encampment of soldiers near Bethabara. The diary entry on November 10 says that they have been there for 19 days. The entry on November 7 says the following: This morning a man was brought from the camp; he had been shot in the body through the carelessness of another man, and appeared to be in a serious condition. The man, whose name was Schmidt, was laid in the little school-house... [this is on page 1633]. I don't see anything that says he was 75 years old. Where did you get that birthdate?
