I've let this thread run for a while because it is genealogy-related, but at this point it seems to be turning into a bashing of on-line companies. Yes, there are some unscrupulous ones out there, and there are also some legitimate companies that offer data to subscribers only. It's up to you to decide whether what a for-pay company is offering is worth what they're asking. I think it's time now to get back to our focus of real North Carolina genealogy.
