    3. i don't download anything that i don't know about. the box that i get is not a message, as in email. it's a prompt box that pops up when i click on the message in my inbox. i always hit 'cancel' so it doesn't download anything, but it always pops up over any email message that comes from Lily. no, i didn't get the pop up box with your email. ----- Original Message ----- From: DORISS To: Tony & Julie Howell ; NCROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2003 12:06 PM Subject: Re: [NCROOTS] question That's a good question I have noticed that also. 2. Lilly
    3. Hello List, I am "Lilly" that "Tony & Julie Howell" is writing about. I am an American living in Syria. I am Lillian Kathleen Martin and I am descended from John Swindle, Jr of Ashe Co. NC. FIRST OF ALL: YOU CAN NOT RECIEVE A VIRUS FROM A ROOTSWEB MAILING LIST. THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE, AS THEY HAVE FILTERS WHICH REMOVE ANY VIRUS PRIOR TO SENDING THE EMAILS ON TO ALL OF US SUBSCRIBERS. Not all computors will make a "pop-up" message to download an Arabic language program, but a very few will. Your computor is one of a very few. I probably email 50 people a day, but about once a year I find someone who finds that message and is confused. It is not a virus, but your computor "sensed" that there were Arabic language Campability with in my computor' email. My computor program is Windows Millinium by Microsoft, but has the ability to either write in Arabic or English. In Syria, that is what everyone uses, obiviously. However, I only write in English, as that is the only language I know. Please don't worry about this anymore, and excuse me and my computor for alarming you. I have heard from an American in Japan doing genealogy also, and he said the same thing happens to him once in a long while. Forgive me. My names in NC being researched are: John Swindle, Jr., James S. Rector, Stephen Landreth, Jr. , Solomon Tolliver, ALL SWINDLE names, Capt. Hugh Parks, Jr. in Mecklenburg Co., NC (Rev War Vet). Best regards, Lillian Kathleen Martin Lattakia, Syria ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony & Julie Howell" <tjhowell1@attbi.com> To: <NCROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 3:32 AM Subject: Re: [NCROOTS] question > i don't download anything that i don't know about. the box that i get is not a message, as in email. it's a prompt box that pops up when i click on the message in my inbox. i always hit 'cancel' so it doesn't download anything, but it always pops up over any email message that comes from Lily. > > no, i didn't get the pop up box with your email. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: DORISS > To: Tony & Julie Howell ; NCROOTS-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2003 12:06 PM > Subject: Re: [NCROOTS] question > > > That's a good question I have noticed that also.
