    3. Lisa, I found, in my local library, U. S. MILITARY RECORDS, A Guide to Federal and State Sources, Colonial America to the Present, by James C. Neagles. On pg. 309 (North Carolina), American Revolution (1775-83), it has some listings that are, apparently, not taken from the pension applications. Some records mentioned are: Rev. War Papers. A card index that contains data gathered from various sources. Cards provide individual's name, unit and misc. data; Rev. War Final Settlements. A finding aid to this collection lists records in the office of the state treasurer and comptroller. Alphabetically lists names and counties of those who received final pay... there are more listings (other than in regards to pensions, the way I read it.) This definitely indicates that these can be found at the North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh. Hope this helps. Does anyone have any idea if there has ever been a list published, in regard to those who served during the Am Rev War, from the many counties of NC? Not just those who filed for pensions, because it's my understanding, that not all of those that served . . . ever lived long enough to file. My own family history states; "never filed for pension is his lifetime". Lisa Grimes
