    3. You probably know this already but Harnett Co was cut entirely from Cumberland Co NC around 1855. So you might find something in Cumberland Co but the records that late in history have not been abstracted, indexed, or published. Lots of records survive, but you must dig them out of the NC Archives. Very tedious. I am a knowledgeable Avery or Avera researcher. Who and where do you have your Avery line? A Richard Avera died about 1844 in Cumberland Co NC who was married to a Civil Ann Godwin. Does that fit your line?
