Afternoon Everyone, I am looking for a little bit of help Please. Has anyone heard of John Porter in the Chowan County area. According to a article by Dr. Claiborne Smith Porter of Lower Norfolk County, Virginia and North Carolina. A deposition that was made in North Carolina, he ( John Porter ) was decribed in the North Carolina records as a "Known Villain, the son of a Quaker" This article also mention that John Porter made a deed in Princess Anne 12-21-1695 as John Porter Jr. of Chowan in North Carolina attorney for John Porter Sr. Again, Dec 15 1695 as John Porter Jr of Chowan he sold land on back bay to James Kemp It is possible ( from the article at have )that this Porter line is connected to the " Lillington " " Pilkington " lines Any information would be very helpful with this Porter Family.
