    3. Some state web pages have city locators: type in a city name and the web site tells you what county it is in. I cannot find such a locator on the N.C. site so can someone tell me what county(s) the following towns are in? Rowen in 1786; Davidson in 1791.

There is also a county named Davidson, but it didn't exist yet in 1791. It was formed from Rowan (note spelling) County in 1822. I don't know of a town named Rowen.
