    3. Hi All, I am trying to find a death record for William Lewis Denny/Denney who died in 1920 or late 1919. William also went by his middle name of Lewis. He would have been 30 or 31 years old and have been born in VA. Any help would be really appreciated. Laurie

Do you have any idea where he would have been living? Where he might have been buried? One problem I've run into when looking for death certificates before about World War II is that people, especially those who lived in rural areas and weren't well-to-do, often didn't bother to get one. They were only required if a doctor was called, and was there when the person died, or if something about the death involved law enforcement. If you can't locate a death certificate or other official record of death, newspapers are good places to look for obituaries. Elizabeth Whitaker in Easley, SC
