O'siyo o'ginali(hello my friends), I am seeking information on the Cherokee Lighthorse, a regulators organiztion(sheriffs)established by the Cherokee Tribal Council abt 1808 in the Old Cherokee Lands of NC. I have been informed that a "Gary McCarthy" wrote a book of two volumes entitled either"The Cherokee Lighthorse" or "The Horsemen", but it is out of print and I cannot locate any copies. A sworn affidavit given by a member of a prominent Cherokee family in the 1880's states that my grgrgrandfather(a Captain) and his brother, served in such a unit in NC before the Treaty of 1828 and I would like to have additional coaberation of the informatiion.
