    1. [NCROOTS] Bryant Newell and Edith---
    2. From: Edith (Dawson) Beck - [email protected] - In response to Margaret Sessions' message about Bryant Newell and Edith, this may not mean a thing, Margaret, but in my Dawson family, similarities in names often make a connection. In this Dawson family, there is an Edith Bryant Dawson, b. 14 Nov. 1846 in Sampson Co. Her parents were Joseph Dawson and Sarah Ann Dawson (supposedly a cousin or niece of Joseph). Edith Bryant Dawson was named after her uncle, Burrell Dawson's wife, Edith B. Folsum.(B. is believed to be Bryant, and perhaps Edith B. Folsum's mother's maiden name). This may be confusing, but this may be telling us something. These early 1800's Dawson lived in the north section of Sampson Co.,---just a step over the Cumberland County line. There has been an Edith in each generation since then.in my Dawson line. (But no Newells that I know of.) This may be just a coincidence, but worth a mention, anyway. If you want anymore info on this Dawson line, let me know. M. Edith (Dawson) Beck (dau. of John Willliam Dawson, granddaughter of John Robert Dawson, great granddaughter of Joseph Dawson, great-great granddaughter of Joseph Dawson.) Researching: Dawson, Lasseter, Dees, Beck, Hall, Jones, from N.C.
