Just as you don't subscribe to Sports Illustrated or Popular Photography, or whatever your favorite magazines might be, to get information on political issues, you subscribed to NCROOTS to talk about North Carolina genealogy. It's not a general chat room, it's not a venue for presentation of whatever your personal causes might be, and it's not a forum for discussing the national news, no matter how shocking that news is. We've been asked to keep telephone use to a minimum, so probably many of our subscribers who use modems aren't with us anyway. For the rest of us, let's get back to just genealogy on this list, and take the rest of our conversation elsewhere.
