    3. Teresa, I notice that you put John Collier who was married to Sarah Horton in the Surry County Colliers as a son of Joseph and Jane (Halso) Collier. You should look at Joseph Collier's will. He left his son John 100 acres of land "where he now liveth -- Caleb Ellis Line-- In Deed Book 8, pg. 775 dated 7 Dec. 1738 - we find - John Collier of the Province of North Carolina, Bertie Precinct-- sold to Henry Berry--- 100 acres of land, part of a certain tract of land granted to his father--- willed by Joseph Collier to his son, John Collier--beginning at a pocosin -Cabel Ellis Line-- Signed John Collier Note Cabel Ellis Line in both the will and the deed transfer. Also that his John Collier lived in North Carolina, Bertie Precinct in 1738. Now look at Deed Book K, Pg. 122 Brunswick Co., VA dated 30 Nov. 1741. William Gower and his wife of Bru. County sold John Collier of PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, VA 200 acres of land on the North side of Three Creek, Reedy Branch- John Jackson line -----. This John Collier's wife was Sarah Horton. They lived on this land until John died in 1768, We do not know who this John's parents were. We did a lot of work on the Surry Families when we were compiling the book we wrote in 1991 "Some Collier Families Decendants of John Collier and Sarah Horton-1741-1991" I still don't know who our John Collier's parents were. I wish I did. He and Sarah are two of my GGG Grandparents. I hope the above may help you. Teresa, I am aware of the work Paul Arnot did on the Collier Family. I have two copies of his work written at different times. I believe he was wrong placing John Collier with a wife, Sarah Horton in the Surry County Collier Family. 3. Hello, Leroy, Thank you for writing. I will get back to you on this. In light of events this morning, I don't think I'm going to be able to concentrate on genealogy today, but I am very interested in your view on this and I would like to correspond further on it another time. Will be in touch.
