    1. [NCROOTS] Bethenia/Bethania NC location?
    2. Mema
    3. I would be interested in the message that mentioned Bethania, NC because I have a Bethenia/Bethania BELL that was born in NC in 1824. I have been searching for her family, perhaps she was named for the town she was born in?? I looked in my Atlas but did not find a Bethania NC. Could someone direct me to a source for that town's location? Please and thank you mema

As I said before, I don't think it's happening because of anything on the NCROOTS list, so let's take the conversation to private e-mail. If you see the same phenomenon, a pop-up box about translation from another language, that appears only with messages from some people, please write to me privately: ncgen@mindspring.com Tell me what e-mail software you use if it's web-based, what web browser you are using if possible, send me a complete copy of one of the messages that caused to happen if this happens with messages from more than one person on NCROOTS, send me the e-mail addresses of others that cause it Please do this by PRIVATE e-mail to me. John Craddocks Company; ID#NC23159; Transferred from 5th REG NC. Dec 1777 to June 1778 I am researching John Swindle, Sr who was a Rev. War Vet from Culpeper Co VA and served with the VA regiments. I am also researching his son John Swindle, Jr of Ashe Co NC. This Jesse is not in my direct line, but certainly related somehow to my line. I am very proud to see that a SWINDLE was at Valley Forge with Gen George Washington. Even though I may not be directly descended from him, I am still extremely proud!! I don't, but I'm also chasing North Carolina Hayneses as I'm descended from a William Haynes probably born in the early to mid 1790s. I have his oldest child as Allen (b. 1816), and the other kids of the first marriage (to Elizabeth Hood) as Humphrey Posey, William, John, Margaret Emaline, Archibald, Kezziah, and Mary. (I'm descended from Margaret Emaline, who married a Snyder.) This William Haynes, who was an early Baptist preacher in Haywood county (NC), married (2) Sallie Campbell and (3) a Ferguson: I've got those children listed separately. I'd love to know where my William came from -- it's possible that it was also from Virginia -- and where his family came from. I do know that my William apparently married Elizabeth in Tennessee -- her father, John Hood, a Rev. War vet., had moved there following the end of the Revolutionary War -- or Missouri. I have some fragmentary information from another researcher that John and Elizabeth moved to or back to North Carolina from Missouri.
