Do you have any idea where he would have been living? Where he might have been buried? One problem I've run into when looking for death certificates before about World War II is that people, especially those who lived in rural areas and weren't well-to-do, often didn't bother to get one. They were only required if a doctor was called, and was there when the person died, or if something about the death involved law enforcement. If you can't locate a death certificate or other official record of death, newspapers are good places to look for obituaries. Elizabeth Whitaker in Easley, SC

    1. [NCROOTS] THOMASes and INGLES -- change URL and EMAIL address and help with breaks in documents
    2. Hi everyone: There are 163 posting in rootsweb archives showing http://members.aol.com/~lctdugan/ which is now a dead link because that little squiggle "~" before lctdugan/ is no longer honored by AOL so that link goes to a "404 Error -- Resource Not Found" I am abandoning that URL also abandoning the email address: lctdugan@aol.com Please use mailto:lonn@lonnd.com for email ( LONN@LONND.COM ) Please use http://www.lonnd.com/tdugan/ for genealogy interest ( LONND.COM/TDUGAN/ For interest in George Slater THOMAS and wife Catherine ?Ingle? THOMAS of VA and TN see http://www.lonnd.com/tdugan/vacourts.html#gsthomas My maternal line is WALKER. Have Interest in THOMASes who returned to KY and southwestern VA after the F&I Wars. Philip and Henry THOMAS may have departed from Cumberland or Bedford County PA area in late 1730's or early 1740's, but we haven't found them. Maybe one sighting of Philip and some unknown THOMASes in the Early Religious Petitions in Virginia. Family lore tells more than we can document. Need document for parents of George "Slater" and Catherine ?Ingle THOMAS Interested also in INGLES about any way you want to spell it -- in Montgomery County Virginia early on. We do not presently know of any connection to William or Mary DRAPER INGLES of Ingles Ferry, but have several Henry INGLES in the area and would like to know whose family they are in. See http://www.lonnd.com/tdugan/vacourts.html#wmingle for William Daniel INGLE and Mary HANCOCK INGLE born circa 1745 with descendants. Some of this line goes through Buckingham County and it seems there are few or no actual records to support the family lore. Any Buckingham reconstruction or other information, however derived, is welcomed. Basically we are in trouble with THOMASes and INGLES before 1800. Not well documented before then. We especially need documents for Elijah INGLE as shown below. See http://www.shoalwaterbay.com/karen1/surname.html Further on, in KY, we are searching for parents of Elijah INGLE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ Born: 23 APR 1824 at: Ballerdsville, Henry Co/Oldham Co., KY Married: 5 MAY 1845 at: Vermilion Co., Illinois Died: 20 JAN 1905 at: Milton Freewater, Umatilla Co, Or Father:?? 1. [NCROOTS] Children Sent To America Before The Mayflower
    2. First Families
    3. Hello Everyone: We have posted a list of early VA immigrants that should be of help to those of you who may be having problems with establishing your early lines there. This concerns the Children Ordered Sent to Virginia 1618-1642 and contains a listing of 468 children, including 337 before the Mayflower landed in 1620! We have also included information on the reason for these relocations here so you can better understand why this practice happened during that time period. This would represent many thousands of lines and could be a reason why you may be having problems with your early people there. You will find the list located on the web site at; http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/ Once you get there you will be looking for the link Family Pages Index which you will enter. On the Family Index Page enter CHILDREN SENT TO VA 1618-1642. Everyone has FREE access to all our web site and the reports contained there. Enjoy Harold Oliver America's First Families
