I am searching for any reference to Isaac Young b. before 1774 (according to census data). He died sometime between 1830 and 1839, judging from a lack of census records and a deed referencing his widow in 1839. He appears in Williamsburg Co., SC in the 1800 census and buys land in 1804. He possibly had a father or grandfather named George and brothers named William, James, Henry, Arthur or Washington. He may somehow be related to a Carney and an Addleton or Addington, because the names appear as middle names for his grandchildren for which there seems to be no connection to their mother's family. Any help would be appreciated. Melanie Young

As many of you already know I have digital photos of about 8000 Rutherford Co., NC marriage licenses that I can E-mail to the ones that need them. These can be accessed at my website located at http://www.rfci.net/wdfloyd What I am trying to explain to everyone is it is impossible for me to except lists of file numbers to send the photos. I use the internet very little other than the webpage and E-mail and therefore I can't warrant the cost of high speed internet for all my free stuff. I understand how impatient one can get when they find a source of information that helps their research. They want it all right now. I am that way also. By using a phone modem for the internet connection it takes as long for a half meg photo to leave my PC as it does for you to receive it with a modem. If I was to try to fill several lists of photo file numbers I could put hours at the PC. What seems to work very well for me and some of the folks using the photos is to send for ONE and when ! they receive it to send for another. This kind of spreads it out over time. I check the mail quite often but I just have to have a little time for other things and this causes the requests to kind of bunch up. I receive quite a bit of E-mail and I just can't keep all the mail with lists of requests and then send at my convenience so I will send one request and then you will have to re-submit the next request. Keep one thing in mind, This Is All Free Of Charge and I intend to keep it that way. I am not trying to offend or accuse anyone. I am just trying to make it work for us all. All Thank God For Another Beautiful Day, Bill

The best place to look for land records is generally the county's land records office. (This goes by different names in different states: I don't live in North Carolina.) Also, the N.C. state archives would have microfilm of N.C. land records, and other libraries, such as the Mormons, may have copies of that microfilm (at least grantor and grantee indexes). I suggest you start looking for Chesterfield county, SC, resources, such as the Rootsweb list. I used to live on the other side of Chesterfield county and belonged to their gen. society for a while: there seem to be a lot of Hunters in that area. Anson county is near Chesterfield county. There are not any BLM records for the Carolinas. I know this because I used to work for BLM, and I asked. Elizabeth Whitaker
