Hi List, This is an answer to the e-mail I posted earlier about this book. If you are interested in trying to help get the book reprinted please contact Ruth directly at shuler56@gte.net (Roy/Ruth Shuler) Thanks for all your help and Merry Christmas everyone. Tammy Hello, Tammy. Thanks for asking about Jackson County Heritage. We are involved and can answer your questions. Volume I is out of print, but if we can arouse enough interest we will have it reprinted. We are maintaining a waiting list and I'll be glad to add your name and address to it. If we can get 75 expressions of interest that will be enough to let us start discussions with the publisher. We now have about 50 names on the list, so let me know if you want to put your name on that waiting list. Volume II is underway, but it is going very slowly. I'll send you a brochure outlining what we are doing and we would be happy to have your family article. There is also an order blank included in the brochure. We are hoping for publication in October 2000, but that will depend on whether we have enough submissions to complete the volume. Thanks for asking; glad we could be of help. Ruth Shuler

Thats because I am using self control so I won't say things I will regret later so I think I will get real quiet now and unsub so I won't say things I will regret later. Until now this has been a wonderful list and Elizabeth has been great. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when she finds out there is only half a list left when she returns. I will re-sub later when the list is back to it's normal giving and sharing self. I wish all of you a wonderful and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Sandy PS. I am all for Neal.
Is anyone out there researching the Goodson name? I just recently discovered that my Canter line is connected to the Goodson's by marriage. This is the same Goodson family that the town of Bristol, Va. was first named, then later renamed Bristol.Names I am interested in are John Goodson, Permelia Wilson, Catherine Booher Canter, Marshall Dallas Goodson, also any history connected to the Goodson family. I would also be interested in John Jackson, Matilda Canter, and Mary Ann Whittaker, Calvin Whittaker, Daniel Whittaker. Thank you, and happy holidays.
If one flamer should go, ALL should go. Grow up, use delete and get on with it. I thought the Original message good enough to forward to all my family. Marrrrry Christams.,
I am seeking any information on William Riley (aka "Old Billy") YORK who was born somewhere in NC about 1760. He lived in Randolph, Rutherford and Burke counties in NC. He married Mary Ann WALBERT and had 7 children by her. He also had 6 children by Catherine SMITH. It is not known whether he married this Catherine. Any information on Old Billy would be appreciated. Thanks. Larry Noah - larmil-1@att.net My family is at- http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~lrnoah/ Also websites for mailing lists NCOrange-L, BrickChurchNC-L, NOAH-L and BEARSE-L.
Hi everyone, It is my understanding that the listowner, Elizabeth Harris is out of town until I think around Dec. 18th. Barbara was the listowner before Elizabeth took over and apparently is monitoring the list until Elizabeth returns. Ruth in NC e-mail: RLugowski@aol.com Rootsweb Sponsor
About 6 months or so ago, I replied to the list with the answer to someone's question about what the Johnston County Room hours were, or at least something similar. I got this stern note to say that I should have replied privately. It sure woke me up. It was just good genealogical information to me and I could not understand why the answer was not valid for the entire list? I learned to just read what I wanted and to not reply. Life is just too tough to have to worry about your reply being valid with the list owner. I can't believe Neal has been removed from the list!!! I might as well go also. Where is Elizabeth when you need her? Warren
My ggrandfather, Strangeman Whitaker born in 1829, moved from Davie County, NC, to Fayette County, TN, in the early 1850s. The first I ever knew about Strangeman was from an 1850 census that listed him with William Whitaker (his first cousin, I assume) and Lydia Whitaker. Also listed on the census was Nancy Whitaker, age 82. Strangeman's parents were Jesse Whitaker and Elizabeth Beal(e) Whitaker, both born in 1790 (married in 1813 in Rowan County, NC). Have any of you Whitaker researchers ever heard of these Whitakers? Thanks for any information you might have. Patricia Wilson
Please remember this mailing list is for the sharing of genealogical information and not a public forum to discuss the merits of Neal Caskey or anyone elses. Neal violated the rules by using the keyboard to flame another person over and over. Take the time to read the tagline. Ms Bonham-- I'm wondering if you also removed the person who placed the hex in the first place. I was going to call her a witch, but I won't do that. But what else is a person who can voo doo & put the hex on someone. Its out of the dark ages! I found Neal's post extremely interesting, & plan to make sure I don't miss the event. This is a country of free speech, & if you cannot support that, then maybe we should all unsub & form a new list. Donna

Dear Barbara: I have been on this list for two years now, and it is by far my favorite. You have been a very fair list owner when problems have come up. I need to include myself in voting to allowing Neal to come back to the list. He sent the article to us in the spirit of giving, with historical value, although not genealogy, but it was interesting. Maybe a warning, but to be banned, after two people flamed him publicly, seems really harsh. If he is to be banned from list, don't you think the woman with 3x post should be banned as well? She seemed out of line with her comment. I do think he should be allowed back, as obviously he enjoys this list, and that is a compliment to you, as it is the listowner who makes it run smoothly. Happy Holidays and God Bless Lynn Hulled
Hi, I think we are all forgetting one thing here. The LISTOWNER owns this list!! They pay for it and run. They have to settle all the problems between listmembers and tons of bounces. Each list has a set of RULES that we all have to follow regardless if we like it or not. We are all breaking a rule right now about off subject topics. I for one am very grateful to all the listowners who run all the list for without them doing it we wouldn't have this way of communicating about our genealogy research and helping each other. I am sure if the listowner booted someone off the list, they did it with just cause. So now can we get back to what we signed up on this list for Helping Each Other with GENEALOGY. And if I have offended anyone I am truly sorry! Please e-mail me privately with the flames. Thank You, Belinda savadge@alltel.net http://www.genealogybin.com/
