    1. [NCROOTS] Griffins of NC
    2. Roberta Childs
    3. I have just joined this list in the past few days and I am so impressed by the members who support their fellow researches. My Griffins moved from Cumberland County North Carolina to Alabama about 1839. My great great great grandfather was Thomas Griffin, married Nancy Stewart and moved to Henry County Alabama. Family lore says that General Griffin is his father, General being his given name. There are Land Patents in the Coosa County Alabama and Jackson County Florida area that shows General W. Griffin owned land there. At first it was believed that this General Griffin was the father of Thomas, but now we think he may have been a son. Our Griffins were in North Carolina in 1803 until 1839. Family given names are General, Thomas, Hardy, Dempsey, Bryant, Joseph, William, and John. It could be that the father never left North Carolina. Is there anyone who has information that would help me? Roberta Childs

I agree. I was one of those who received a chastisement from the temp, and I certainly don't hold Elizabeth responsible for the delusions of grandeur suffered by her replacement. Let's move on. Welcome back, Neal. Joyce B in TN

    1. [NCROOTS] who is running this site at this time?
    2. David K. Jones
    3. Whos running the site Barbara? If so and this is the way you do things. Then you can unsubscribe me from this list and I will make trips to Ashe Co, the state archives to do my research. I will also go to Neals list. An any one but a list run by someone that act like you. An I say this because if the emails are true that you blocked Elizabeth Harris from taking her list back then you are worse then the witch with spells. Because Im ___ well not getting any research material from this list as its currently running. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~dkjones Searching: Arnold, Gilley, Hartzog, Jones, Pennington Lines Dave Jones

    2. FWI
    3. I wish all of you who are obsessed about who is managing the list would unsubscribe. I have seen this mess on other lists, and it is tiresome. Anyway about half of it is probably a hoax anyway. I have serious research that I am trying to do with limited time in which to do it. All some are you are doing is demonstrating why most serious genealogist will not research on the internet. I am tired of hitting the delete button for most of the messages on NCRoots-List. Unsubscribe quietly please. You do not need to tell the list that you are going or that you are returning. Please give some of us a break. Franklin

    3. I sent this e-mail to Elizabeth during the thick of things. As you see, she did respond to me on the 18th Dec. with intentions of resuming her position and duties as list owner. This, I consider a most unholy act by a temporary list moderator to perpetuate a hostile take over of someone else's work. This is the first time I have ever seen such a sickening thing happen on any list. 3. Dear List This is getting ridiculous now. When the list manager is unsubscribed and this is apparently allowed to happen without recourse. The people who subscribed to this list did so for the help and exchange of researching tips, Not to be jacked around and had mind games played on them. Does anyone know why Barbara no longer had the list when Elizabeth received it?? Read the archives, might find the answer there. There are a few alternative lists I can go to for the NC research. And it is just research not this crap. Debbie Carter

    2. Debbie Carter
    3. Dear List I am sure I will be bounced for this but, in view of all the recent developments nothing would surprise me. Whether or not Neal is reinstated is not a topic for our discussion anymore. The powers that be will decide regardless of our pleas or wishes. I joined this list for the fine genealogic benefits and to research my family lines. I have lurked and watched for almost 3 weeks of constant bickering about some topic or other and none of it having very much to do with genealogy. Can't we please just return to what made the list great to begin with. And Elizabeth, if what I read earlier is true that the temp will not return the password, can't you submit to the rootsweb people for a change in passwords? I can on my lists that I administer. Debbie Carter
