    3. My Frances BOLLINGER's (b 7 Feb 1844) parents were Rhoda Salina WHITENER (?) and Jacob Alonzo Bollinger (b 8 April 1820 Catawba). It only occurred to me this morning after reading your "WEIDNER" message that "WHITENER" is/was derived from Weidner. (Brain's working slow here......) You don't happen to have anything on Rhoda in your file, do you? Am quite curious about her. We also have FULBRIGHT/Volbrecht - Anna Elizabeth Fulbright (b ca 1744 PA, d after 1805 Lincoln Co.) daughter of Johan Wilhelm Volbrecht and Christina Shuck; Anna married John KILLIAN. And a Blessed Christmas to all....... 2. Hi everyone, Thought it was time to post my NC interests again. HARP: I am always searching for fellow descendants of Thomas Marion HARP Sr. who moved to Granville County from VA in the late 1740's and lived there up until his death, which was sometime before 1800. I descend from his son William, born May 11, 1770 in Granville County. STANTON: I'm looking for the parents of Sarah "Sally" STANTON, who married William HARP May 24, 1787 in Granville County. I am told that she may have been from Catawaba County, NC or Virginia and I definetly feel that she was related to the John STANTON who married Mourning HARP, and the Lewis STANTON who married Elizabeth SMITH, either as a sister or cousin. I descend from Sarah and William's son James Marion HARP, who was born 1807 in Overton County, TN. MOORE: I descend from Lewis MOORE, born 1805 in NC, don't know which county. He was married sometime before 1825 in NC to Sarah TRAVIS, a native of Jackson County, GA. I descend from their daughter Elizabeth who was born in 1825 in NC. Lewis and Sarah relocated to Overton County, TN around 1830, along with James, Jones, and Cassie MOORE, who I believe are Lewis' brothers and sister. He may have had a sister named Elizabeth as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Analee Watts, IBSSG Delano, CA, USA Listowner of SLEEP-L at Rootsweb communities..aka "Enter Sandwoman" ;) The Watts & Rodriguez Family Home Page http://www3.cybercities.com/w/wattsgen/index.html Nuestra Lineaje Genealogy Graphics http://members.aol.com/NuestraLineaje/main.html (Moving to Rootsweb !) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    1. [NCROOTS] GEDCOM File Download
    2. I'm not very experienced with downloading files I find at the Mormon FamilySearch website. I tried to save to disk a file I found on a Morgan ancestor reported to be from NC, and was confused by my windows 95 system asking me to "associate" this file with a ".GED" extension with one of my programs. Do you associate something like this with a word processing program, an image program, or what? Appreciate any helpful hints from anyone who is experienced with this procedure. Thanks, Donna Hafner

    3. Hi About a month ago I used the free McAfee on line scan. And it was free. However, it requires that you have Explorer 5.0 on your computer in order to work. I downloaded the updated version of Explorer for the purpose of doing the scan. Then learned that Explorer had changed all my netscape defaults to explorer and even removed my desktop icon for netscape!! (Sounds like a virus, doesn't it??) Fortunately, all I had to do was re-download netscape to fix it. Boy, good thing Bill Gates wasn't here at the time! Sorry, Elizabeth, so much was going on here regarding the McAfee scan, I thought I better let them know what they might be in for. Jan James S. Allen wrote: > > McAfee is *FREE*???
