Next question, is anybody researching Seymours in N.C., especially Elizabeth City? Mother is law's maiden name was Seymour, Erma Marguerite, and had a brother, Phillip Seymour, both born late 1800's. 2. Does anyone have access to the North Carolina treemaker cd's? If possible, would you check to see if there was a marriage for James Jordan and Catherine (unknown)? between the years l8l9 and l823 in North Carolina? Her surname is not available but the rest of her name may have been Sarah Catherine. Her birthplace was North Carolina according to the federal census. Thanks. Bonnie BJo3791845@aol.com

    1. [NCROOTS] Samuel WEATHERS: NC 1770? > SC 1772
    2. Paul Graham
    3. I am searching for the Weathers/Withers family out of NC and am at a loss to find my particular line. I would like to find information on a Samuel WEATHERS who apparently was living in NC around 1770, then moved to Laurens Co., SC in 1772 where he purchased land. Samuel was the husband of Martha DURHAM/DURRAM and they had a daughter Isabel who was apparently born in NC (according to baptismal records). I know of a few Samuel WEATHERS's that were in VA around the 1720's but cannot connect any of them to a specific family. Right now I have no clues as to their location in NC so any hints would be helpful. Thanks, Paul __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Hi Richard; I don't know if this will help, but the book "Eight Edition of the Handy Book for Genealogists" by The Everton Publishers, Inc. , PO Box 368, Logan, Utah, 84321, published 1991 (No ISBN that I can find) Way back on page M-55, there are several maps showing Territorial growth 1775 - 1820. The "Territory south of Ohio" was formed in 1790 and included the now states of Tennessee, the north portion of both MIss and Ala. In 1804, the area minus Tenn became "the Mississippi Territory. Tenn became a state in 1796, and in 1817, Miss became a state; Ala became a state in 1819. The Territory Northwest of Ohio was formed in 1787 and included Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. Hope this helps you Will in Phoenix On Mon, 17 Jan 2000 20:15:07 -0500, you wrote: >Does anyone know who or what The Davidson County Rangers were. >Does anyone know who and what Lieut Walkers Rangers were. 2. Donna Hull
    3. Elizabeth & all-- Re the missing messages, I haven't noticed that on my Digest. I sometimes find that one message is put near the top & the first message query is near middle or bottom. What I have been noticing, however, is double & triple original messages & the answers. In 2 days, I will see all the messages 2-3 times as original posts--not copies of (there are many of the forwarding copys too). Yesterday, one message was on a list twice & one the previous digest one time. At this rate, the Archives will be packed with something that is not new information. This is happening on all & only on RootsWeb lists. Must be a problem of theirs. Elizabeth, have you heard anything about others having this problem. Would it be appropriate for you to check with RW to see what's up?? Donna in CA
