    2. Copied from North Carolina Court Records - Abstracts filed in cases before the Supreme Court, in the Office of the Clerk, Raleigh, NC BRYAN vs. WASHINGTON and WATSON, Jones Co., 1834 Samuel COX died intestate, and William MCKINNEY administered his estate. He left surviving him a sister Catherine, wife of Sears BRYAN, and George and John COX, children of a deceased brother Frederick. Hardy BRYAN, as representative of Sears BRYAN, and George and John COX, infants, by their guardian, James H. EDMONDSON, requested the Court to order a division of the slaves. This was done December 11, 1833. John WASHINGTON of Lenoir Co., claimed that Sears BRYAN had owed him money since June 9, 1813, and had moved to Florida where ordinary process cannot be served. A transfer is on file to Hardy BRYAN of the claim of Sears BRYAN against COX's estate, stating he is "of the County of Jackson, Territory of Florida". 1. [NCROOTS] A Special Prayer for a Listowner
    2. theshadow
    3. Hello Folks, I want to veer off the subject for a long minute. I am sending this to my Surname lists because Cher Adams' (who is a Rootweb listowner for several counties in TN) dad, Kenneth Adams, has a brain tumor which was discovered just this week. When someone has a problem in our church we form a prayer chain. I would like to do that here for Cher's dad, Kenneth Adams and for Cher. I want to suggest that each of us, in our own way, say individual prayers and that we also ask others in our genealogical circles to add a prayer for them too. Each of you will know whether other lists will allow such on the list, but with Cheryl being a Rootsweb list owner of several lists, I think that most of the lists would indulge us. We are all in this together, and if we can't add a prayer for those who gave us life to the One who gave all of us life, then, perhaps, we don't know what genealogy is all about. If you feel that such as this deserves "flamming", then please do so to me privately, and not on the list. Thank you for your prayers and indulgence, Jean Hancock I would like to start with this prayer: Dear Lord, Please be with Kenneth Adams as he under-goes this new trial in his life. If it be Thy will, please grant him good health and a positive outcome. Also, we would ask that You be with Cher and hold her in Thy comforting Presence and let her know that we are all with her and Mr. Adams. As always, we remain Thy obediant servants and trust that Thy will be done. If you want to email her privately, sen it to Cher Adams and her address is ace1125@ne.infi.net Please send lots of positive thoughts and prayers to this family...

    1. [NCROOTS] Cleaning and restoring some old picture frames
    2. I'm not sure if this is off topic or not - if so, please reply to me privately so as to keep the list uncluttered. Can anyone give me a web site that can tell me how to go about cleaning and restoring some old picture frames. They are oval shaped and have decorative flowers carved at random around the edges - and in some chipped places there appears to be a layer of plaster of paris or some other white hard substance on top of the wood frame. The decorative flowers may have been molded from the layer of plaster of paris. I know one of the frames is at least 100 years old (it has a photo of my Paternal grandfather who died in 1897), and the other two about 80-85 years old (one with a photo of my parents wedding picture taken in 1920/21, & the other of my father & his brother in their WWI Army uniforms). These were found stored in an old trunk in the attic after my grandmother died and just recently came into my possession, so I'm thrilled to death by the find, but they need cleaning up & some chips and cracks repaired. I know I can't afford a professional to do it and need some help in how to do it myself so I won't ruin them. Any help on cleaning products, etc., which is safe to use will be very much appreciated. Thank you, Betty Norem (in Panama City, FL) bnorem@aol.com
